Simurgh

Ebrahim Eskandari (IR), Yazdan Zand (IR)

Ebrahim Eskandari has a background in sculpture and painting, and various experiences in the field of media. His knowledge of different materials leads him to search for new materials and new ways to express himself. He believes that artists are always seeking the evolution of the human mind, and only the mediums of its expression change with the passage of time. Therefore, he seeks new languages and methods to reproduce the contents of the ancient world.

Simurgh, a short film inspired by the Persian myth, is an embodiment of this exploration. The story of the Simurgh and the birds’ journey in search of a righteous king is a timeless allegory for the quest for freedom and self-discovery, themes that resonate deeply in the context of immigration. Through this film, I aim to bridge the ancient and the modern, creating a narrative that speaks to contemporary audiences while drawing from the rich tapestry of Persian mythology.
