Thinking About Better Endings

Elena Jäger (DE)

Elena Jäger, born in Munich in 2000, completed her training as a communication designer in 2022. Since 2023, she has been studying Time-Based and Interactive Media Art at the University of Arts Linz. Her works address emotional states and observations of her environment, which she primarily expresses figuratively and in a variety of media.

She also explores the demands of perfection placed on herself and her work, as well as the space between seemingly fixed categories.

We rarely think about the end of things–our entire attention is focused on creating or producing something, and then on using or consuming it. This ignorance is the source of many of the problems we face today. Art can’t be an exception here; rather, it can take a pioneering position and demonstrate how we can arrive at more sustainable solutions for the materials that surround us. Thinking About Better Endings is my attempt to create something that has the potential to degrade completely.
