untitled (to be licked at)

Laura Walter (DE)

Laura Walter lives and works in Linz. Her practice includes video, interactive installations and sculptural elements. In her works she explores forms of surveillance as well as seeing and being seen, alienation through digital technologies and the poetics of (technical) objects.

Who is watching? Who is being watched? untitled (to be licked at) subverts the familiar power dynamics of a (shop) window. As someone walks past, the kinetic object begins to move along the glass, licking it and leaving visible traces of saliva behind. Echoing Linz’s yellow sightseeing train, where observers unintentionally become the observed, this work raises broader questions about visibility, surveillance and desire in both physical and digital spaces.
