Das Atelierhaus Salzamt der Stadt Linz ist ein Ort bildender Künstler*innen aus dem In- und Ausland. Insgesamt stehen
hier neun Ateliers zur Verfügung. Fünf internationalen Artists in Residence werden jeweils ein Apartment und ein eigenes Atelier sowie ein Stipendium zur Verfügung gestellt. Ateliers und Wohnungen werden auch an das Land Oberösterreich, die Kunstuniversität Linz und die Ars Electronica vermietet. Vier weitere Ateliers werden biennal kostenlos an lokale Künstler*innen vergeben. Im Ausstellungssaal im Erdgeschoß des Salzamtes finden Ausstellungen, Vorträge, Diskussionen, Präsentationen und Screenings statt, die versuchen, den künstlerischen Austausch der lokalen und internationalen Künstler*innen zu dokumentieren und einer breiten Öffentlichkeit zu vermitteln.

Atelierhaus Salzamt, hosted by the city of Linz, is a meeting place for visual artists from inland and abroad. It contains five studios and apartments for international artists in residence, four studios for artists from Linz, and an exhibition space for artistic exchange and involvement of international guests in projects. International artists in residence receive a monthly stipend to cover living costs, while studios for local artists are given biennially and free of charge. Studios and apartments are also let to the Province of Upper Austria, University of Arts Linz, and Ars Electronica Festival.

Aban is an artist from Iran who focuses on the body. Her experiences of living in Iran have contributed immensely to challenging the definition of the body and society‘s perception of it as an ’unlawful ground’.

Der Titel dieser sich als Installation präsentierenden Sammlung lautet NARRATIVES. Ich habe Interviews von queeren Personen in Teheran gesammelt und archiviert. Ich traf diese Personen in Kliniken zur Geschlechtsumwandlung und in langen Warteschlangen, in denen sie sich anstellten, um ihre Ausweisdokumente zu ändern. Nach kurzer Zeit bemerkte ich, dass sich unsere Gespräche unbewusst hauptsächlich um zwei Themen drehten: den Körper und das Zuhause.

The title of this collection is NARRATIVES, which are presented as an installation. I have collected and archived interviews from queer individuals in Tehran. I met these individuals at gender reassignment clinics and during long queues to change their identification documents. After a short while, I noticed that our conversations unconsciously revolved around two main concepts: the body and home.
