Kunst eröffnet Räume, in denen man sein darf! Der KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd verbindet Menschen, Kunst und Gesundheit und überschreitet in produktiver Weise die Grenzen für Kunst im erweiterten Kontext. Ein Ort in Linz, an dem Kunst produziert und präsentiert wird. Kennzeichnend ist die Durchmischung von Projekten, Vermittlungsangeboten, Produktionen, künstlerischen Gestaltungen, Ausstellungen und Aktionen im öffentlichen Raum, die entlang von Jahresthemen – 2023 „Es braucht Realität“ – und der Initiative „City of Respect“ initiiert und realisiert werden. Ein zentraler Aspekt der Arbeit des KunstRaums Goethestrasse xtd ist, dass es immer um Menschen geht und die Wirkungsmöglichkeiten der Kunst ausgelotet werden, weil das Gesamte und die Projekte im Miteinander entstehen und vom Gegenüber leben.

Art opens up spaces where you are allowed to be as you are! KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd connects people, art, and health and productively crosses the boundaries of art in an expanded context. It’s a place in Linz where art is produced and presented, in a characteristic mixture of projects, outreach, productions, artistic designs, exhibitions, and campaigns in public spaces. Work has been carried out for the annual theme for 2023, ”Reality is Needed“, as well as the ”City of Respect“ initiative. Key aspects of the work of the KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd are that its always about people as well as exploring the possibilities of art‘s impact. All of the works and the projects themselves are created collaboratively and thrive on artistic exchange.

Dieses Buch versucht, mit einfachsten grafischen Mitteln die homophoben Aussagen von 201 Personen zu entkräften. Die Worte haben in unserer Gesellschaft keinen Platz, genauso wenig auf den Seiten dieses Buches. Deswegen wurden die Zitate gestaucht und unlesbar gemacht. Die Namen der Individuen sind aber lesbar. Sie werden als homophob bloßgestellt und ihren Aussagen wird jeder Wert entzogen.

This book seeks to invalidate the homophobic statements of 201 people with the simplest graphic means. These words have no place in our society, nor on the pages of this book. Therefore, the quotes have been compressed and made unreadable. The names of the individuals, however, are readable. They are exposed as homophobic and their statements are stripped of any value.

He uses a wide variety of materials and techniques in his design work. He has been involved with graffiti culture since 2022 and has been making murals himself at various locations ever since.

Ein Protest gegen die Graffiti-Kultur, die sich durch diverse personalisierte Stile von Schriften und Sprühtechniken an Gebäudewänden im öffentlichen Raum auszeichnet. Ob das Werk mit dem Mangel an individuellem Stil nur aufgrund der Technik des Sprühens ein Graffiti genannt werden darf, ist diskutierbar.

A protest against graffiti culture, which is characterized by various personalized styles of writings and the medium of spray paint on building walls in public spaces. It is debatable whether the work, with its lack of individual style, may be called graffiti simply because of the spraying technique.

There are many people, who create the cityscape. The city itself takes this for granted – there‘s a lot to be done in Linz. We’re trying our best to do our part, hoping the city council will grasp Linz’s potential and offer support for change.

Das Video kritisiert das derzeitige kulturelle Klima in Linz und die auf das Auto ausgerichtete Stadtplanung. Es werden wirtschaftliche Anreize, die den Wohlhabenden zugutekommen, hinterfragt. Um eine Botschaft zu vermitteln, haben wir das „Neue Corporate Design der Stadt Linz, Erklärvideo“ persifliert. Severin Stadler hat animiert, Naim Aist kümmerte sich um den Sound, Marlene Steiner ist die Stimme, Carlotta Röll hat die Idee eingebracht und Texte verfasst.

The video criticizes the current cultural climate of Linz or a lack thereof, as well as the city‘s car-centred urban planning measures and economic incentives set to benefit the wealthy. To bring the message across, we satirized Linz‘s ‘Neues Corporate Design der Stadt Linz / Erklärvideo‘. Severin Stadler did the animations, Naim Aist took care of the sound, Marlene Steiner is the voice you hear in the video, Carlotta Röll pitched the idea and composed the written work.
