Age doesn‘t stop us from being contemporary – 170 years! Der Oberösterreichische Kunstverein wurde 1851 gegründet und ist somit der zweitälteste Kunstverein in Österreich. Er initiierte die Gründung der OÖ Landesgalerie sowie des Stadtmuseum Nordico und sieht sich als Plattform der Begegnung zwischen Kunst, KünstlerInnen und Kunstbegeisterten aus Wirtschaft & Wissenschaft und fördert den interdisziplinären Diskurs zwischen den Künsten und die Auseinandersetzung mit zeitgenössischen Kunsttendenzen. Unsere Galerie fokussiert die gegenwärtige künstlerische Praxis und thematisiert gesellschaftliche Auseinandersetzungen. The Upper Austrian Art Association was founded in 1851 and is thus the second oldest art association in Austria. It initiated
the founding of the Upper Austrian State Gallery and the Stadtmuseum Nordico and sees itself as a platform for encounters between art, artists, and art enthusiasts from business and science. It promotes interdisciplinary discourse in the arts and the examination of contemporary art trends. Our gallery focuses on contemporary artistic practice and addresses social debates. Dünhofen is a multidisciplinary artist. He enjoys working with natural materials and creating installations. He has exhibited in South Africa, South Korea, and Japan.

Dünhofen betrachtet das Innehalten und Beobachten der Welt durch seine Skulpturen als Ausdruck des Kampfes um die Konzentration auf das „Hier und Jetzt“. Der beschäftigte Geist lässt für solche Überlegungen wenig Raum. Dieser Kampf ist wiederum mit dem Kampf verbunden, in der Gegenwart glücklich zu sein und darüber hinaus einen persönlichen Zustand der Zufriedenheit aufrechtzuerhalten.

Dünhofen’s work regards the act of pausing and observing the world through his sculptures as indicative of the struggle of focusing on the ‘here and now’. The busy mind leaves little space for such reflection. This struggle is bound to the struggle of being happy in the present and, beyond that, sustaining a personal state of contentment.
