The Lifelike Alpha Male
Mirjam Bär (AT)
The interactive artwork “Alphus Masculus: The Lifelike Alpha Male” will give visitors tips on how to become a real “alpha male” if they get close to him. The persona humorously illustrates the absurdity of some mindsets within the “manosphere”. The character’s statements are taken as direct and indirect quotes from TikToks and podcasts by so-called “alpha males”. In this way, the irrationality of this ideology is demonstrated. The shoes the artwork is wearing were the artist’s first ever shoes.
