Round Dance – Stories from the Countries of Plants

An array of methods for living better together, inspired by plants
Barbara von Rechbach (AT/SI) and Martin Colov (BG); Pauline Gillich (DE); Mira Maierhofer (AT); Teresa Marchesani (AT)
Plants share an experience that extends beyond human perception, intelligence and communication. Finding inspiration in Stefano Mancuso’s book “The Nation of Plants”, a playful manifesto for the respectful coexistence of all living beings, we explore different models of a respectful cohabitation adopted from botanical principles. A colourful array of plant interfaces and living nature narration opens an exploration space for a new story of agency and deepens our connection with the natural world.
The featured projects illustrate individual articles of a bill of rights for more-than-human entities, currently living and those of future generations. Our planet can be the common home for decentralised vegetable democracies, which ensure human survival through synergies with the natural world.
