Who is jumping, Jack?

Nathalie Kronberger (AT)
“Who is jumping, Jack?” is an interactive kinetic installation that translates visitors’ arm movements into mechanical sequences. Movements are captured in real time and transmitted to servo-controlled corkscrews, creating an immediate response to the visitors’ actions.

Beneath the playful surface lie repetition, discipline, and control – movements that become part of a system in which roles are assigned and strings are pulled invisibly. Who is the jumping jack, and who is the puppet master?

Nathalie Kronberger is an Austrian media artist based in Linz who specializes in interactive experiences at the intersection of digital design and physical computing. She often explores how digital systems can be translated into tangible, physical interactions, inviting the audience to actively engage with her work.
