Sound Campus

“Sound Campus—Sonic Fever” Edition

Hauptplatz 6, Courtyard

Sound Campus is a sound program presented in collaboration with Ars Electronica and
Kunstuniversität Linz, taking place from the 3rd to the 5th of September 2024.

This year, Sound Campus takes the shape of a carrier bag of sounds that gathers diverse and
inclusive forms of musical expression. Looking to the power of sound as catalyzer and shape-shifter for world-building, “Sound Campus – Sonic Fever” proposes a polymorphous stage for fiction, imaginary spaces and anachronistic possibilities.

Fostering a culture of solidarity, we embrace sound works exploring the creative potentials of alternative shared environments and shared auditory experiences. This year’s edition focuses on the potential of sound as a tool for challenging normative and dominant narratives, replacing them with ones of sharing, caring and response-ability.

Audio Walk—Wave Forms Words

Artists: AmiRali Bashiri (IR/AT), Çağla Gillis (TR/US), I-ID (IR/AT), Mehmet Çolak (TR/AT), Milena Stępień (PL), Sashe Urdovski (MK/AT).

Structured in three parts, with a focus on memory and counter-narrative perspectives, the audio walk will present an altered environment where the gaze shifts to more-than-human agencies, and history is presented through a shared collective view. The city will be perceived collectively, offering alternative
perspectives on seeing and understanding the city–a city that is re-appropriated and reclaimed by collective voices.
