“Human Breeder: Prototype: 01” is a sculpture made of metal, paper and bio-foil. Recordings of breath are implemented inside a sound system to give the artefact mechanical lungs and the association of life, which also grows within. The cyborg is a metaphorical figure that blurs the boundaries between human and machine, nature and culture, and it challenges fixed categories of identity. The artefact is built on theory about cyborgs and f eminist technology studies from female thinkers.
