Description:
Room no. 0 is a choreographic performance that explores fragmented notions of home and embodied presence through personal movement scores. It is the result of a collaboration between dancers from Anton Bruckner Private University and media artists from the Interface Cultures program at the University of Art and Design Linz. The piece unfolds within the immersive environment of Deep Space at the Ars Electronica Center.
Performers navigate spatial zones shaped by their own physical logic, responding to light, shadow, routine, and emotion. Everyday life rituals, which are small and simple actions embedded in brief moments, form the core of the work. Though rooted in personal experience, these rituals can be perceived collectively, revealing embodied differences. This performance builds upon the concept of personal spaces and extends them into a shared, collective experience.
The collaboration between digital immersive elements and real bodies creates a dynamic interplay of realities we might encounter in everyday life. Complementing this idea, media artists use interactive artistic tools to respond to the performers’ choice of habitual movements on stage.
