Elena Mirja Jäger entwirft in Thinking About  Better Endings ein Gegen- ja vielleicht Vorreitermodell, wie Dinge zu Ende gedacht werden können. Sie kritisiert die blinde Fokussierung auf Produktion, Gebrauch und Konsum, die viele Umweltprobleme verursacht und dabei die wichtige Frage nach dem Ende sowie den Folgen für kommende Generationen ignoriert. Die zu 100 % biologisch abbaubare Skulptur ist Jägers Versuch eines „besseren“ Endes, zumindest für ihr Kunstwerk.

In Thinking About Better Endings, Elena Mirja Jäger designs a counter­model, or perhaps even  a pioneering model, for how things can be thought through to their conclusion. She criticises the blind focus on production, use, and consumption, which is the cause of many environmental problems and ignores the important question of the end and the consequences for future generations. The 100 % biodegradable sculpture is Jäger’s attempt at a ‘better’ ending, at least for her artwork.
