Aus gegerbter Lachshaut spinnt die Künstlerin Fäden – mal fein, mal robust – und webt daraus einen Wandteppich, der die bewegte Kraft des Wassers erahnen lässt. In her reflection on the Korean song Like the Mighty Salmon Swimming Upstream Against the Current, Woonji Im interweaves the arduous journey of the salmon against the river current  with the challenges of life. The artist spins threads – at times fine, at times robust – from tanned salmon skin and weaves them into a tapestry that gives a sense of the turbulent power of water. An interweaving of skin and memory tells of the ongoing will to swim against all odds.
