Olia Fedorovas Textilserie Maps of the Disappearing basiert auf topografischen Karten ihrer Heimat im Osten der Ukraine. Die Sticktechnik, weißer Faden auf weißem Stoff, ist traditionell in der Region Kharkiv verbreitet und spielt mit den Grenzen der optischen Wahrnehmung. Die linearen Muster zeigen vom militärischen Konflikt gezeichnete Gebiete am Rande der Auslöschung – Landschaften zwischen Identitätsverlust,  Zerstörung und Tod.

Olia Fedorova’s textile series Maps of theMaps of the Disappearing is based on topographical maps of her homeland in eastern Ukraine. The embroidery technique, white thread on white fabric, is a tradition in the Kharkiv region and plays with the limits of visual perception. The linear patterns show areas scarred by military conflict and on the brink of extinction – landscapes between loss of identity, destruction, and death.
