Building Futures – Ein Manifest zum Neudenken des Bauens auf einem bedrohten Planeten Viel zu lange waren unsere Planungs- und Bauprojekte auf profitorientierte Märkte ausgerichtet, die von einer mächtigen und rücksichtslosen kapitalistischen Maschinerie angetrieben werden.
Weltweit wurde dadurch vielen Menschen der Zugang zu gesunden, sicheren und würdevollen Lebensräumen verwehrt. Exklusion, Armut und Migration sind die Folgen. Die vom Menschen geschaffene gebaute Umwelt hat die natürlichen Ressourcen extrem ausgebeutet, Ökosysteme zerstört und die biologische Vielfalt massiv verringert.
// Building Futures – A Manifesto for rethinking building on a Planet under threat. For far too long, our planning and building projects have been geared toward profit-driven markets, operated by a powerful and ruthless capitalist machine.
Around the world, this has denied many people access to healthy, safe and dignified places to live. Exclusion, poverty and migration are the consequences.
The man-made built environment has extremely depleted natural resources, destroyed ecosystems, and massively reduced biodiversity.
The consequences of these harmful dynamics are the climate crisis and global social injustices that threaten, in particular, already marginalized populations and the livelihoods of future generations. We must act now to radically reorient our planning and building activities toward environmental and social justice.
