Binaural #1: RGBastler: “Twisting depth into length”
by RGBastler (Florine Mougel (FR) + Andreea Vladut (RO))
Attention! Very special concert format! This is a headphones concert! Bring your own or we can lend you a pair!
“Twisting depth into length” is an acousmatic live performance exploring the ability to extend or compress the listener’s field of perception within the binaural display. Electronic sound waves and dancing bodies sound prints are framed on magnetic tape loops, so that these sonic gestures are fragmented, confined within a cyclical process. Iterations deploy a choreography of electronic and field recording sounds in motion, an immersive sound collage.
RGBastler is an artist collective formed by media artists Florine Mougel (FR) and Andreea Vladut (RO). Both pursued their master degree in Time-Based Media at the University of Art and Design Linz, Austria. Their common interest in audio-visual performance brought them together and took the shape of an on-going collaborative project.
