Navigating through grimy sound-textures and dismantled beats, trying to channel discontent and confusion.

MARAws is a DJ currently based in Vienna, who was socialized in between DIY- and popular culture. Growing up in the suburbs of Linz, they started experimenting with samples to create industrial sounds and noise-heavy drone music. Simultaneously they contributed to and worked on various local DIY-magazines and -events. After moving to Vienna, they co-founded the Label Jeopardize, which focuses on experimental electronic music and will have its first release soon. As a DJ MARAws explores hybrid club sounds, alternating between different genres, disruptive dissonance, catchy or sometimes odd (pop) cultural signifiers and diverse drum patterns.
