Mika Bankomat works on the edge of unprofessionalism. The politics of materiality and the sociopolitical power of sound are points of access for her interest in auditive structures. At times unproductive, her focus is on anti-music, noise and industrial techno. In her sound performances she works with self-made instruments, field recordings, places, gestures, movements, postures and the resonance of materials.
