“ilovemyfans” is a piece fluctuating between harsh noisy impulses and static serene drones, build by tender movements, creating tension with intention. As a gay man from the Austrian countryside trying to own my gayness in a very personal way, the fan as an instrument deeply rooted in queer history, is the perfect initiator to conquer this journey. Contrary to the flashy sounds and movements of the ballroom scene, a queer club or a pride event this project focuses on a quieter approach. Nevertheless, everyone needs some cheering on… at least from one fan.
Ahmost is a Vienna based musician, teacher and artist working with improvised music and experimental sounds. Saxophone and bassoon studies at mdw (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien), @st.off – band project with Sara Zlanabitnig (flute and bassoon with fx), teaching saxophone at Musikschule Tulln a.d.Donau.
