DJ SETS

05—08/09 | 6pm—10pm

Since 2020, Sound Campus is a format hosted by the Kunstuniversität Linz for students and performers to exchange and share with a wider audience. This year a series of Live acts, DJ Sets, radio stream, score exhibition, listening and improvisation sessions, took place around Hauptplatz 6, during Ars Electronica Festival.

Embracing a collective and non-hierarchical approach, this year’s Sound Campus emphasized the fluidity of sound expression and music making. Through notions of performativity and improvisation, a multidimensional stage provides a frame for caring, solidarity and creation.

STREAM COMPILATION

Reflecting on modes of production, distribution and visibility of music and sound art, the “Stream Compilation” is a set of self-produced, published and un-published works across genres. From electroacoustic and experimental compositions to radio art, poetic sound theatre and electro-pop explorations, these pieces intersect in a collective stream of horizontal listening.

ON SCORES
(exhibition)

Open scores are offered as musical trajectories. They are an invitation to the interpreter, who undertakes the journey to read, imagine and sometimes needs to invent their own itinerary. The wide variety of forms, elaborated by the 11 artists and composers exhibited marks the broad scope of a score, ranging from written instructions to graphically intricate pieces. The authors have in common a musical or performative research that goes beyond traditional standards.
