#4 is the daylight premiere of the performative research series Photosynthesis, in which self-built photosensitive instruments are played by adjusting relations to environmental light conditions. Morphing through ambient/drone/industrial polyrhythms, the perception of signals depends entirely on perspective.

Martin Simpson (US) and Roman Gavryliuk (UA) are sound artists based in Graz, Austria. Together they form the Photosynthesis project, performing self-built synthesizers with light. From 2021-22, they developed instruments for a range of installations, Live performances, and notated pieces presented in Austria, Switzerland, and Slovakia. They currently study at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics in Graz.
