SOUNDCAMPUS | LIVE | Hauptplatz 6

The duo Sara Zlanabitnig and Ursula Winterauer develop a Live resulting from an improvisational collaboration that explores the limits and possibilities of their instrumentation. Harsh electronic instruments meet the fragility of the flute, creating points of sonic friction. The disparate sounds converge, scrape past each other, resonate with each other, and collide. The result is a diffuse sound experience that on the one hand gives the individual instruments enough space to explain themselves, yet forces a complete entanglement of their very own characteristics.

Ursula Winterauer generates raw sounds between brutality and harmony. Her eclectic soundscapes deliver differentiated interpretations of the genres industrial, techno and ambient, which are reflected by means of bass guitar, synthesizer and electro-smog clouds. In addition to curatorial work, she runs the label Ventil Records (@ventilrecords) and works as a composer & sound designer for film and contemporary dance.

The flutist Sara Zlanabitnig moves between fields of electronic and improvised music. She researches unconventional sounds, tries out effect pedals, fancies false fingerings, quarter tones and multiphonics. Borders between music styles are very open to her.
