What can be read from people's gazes? Can photographs of eyes tell us what they once saw? "I had no more dreams" was one of the many descriptions of survivors about their time in the concentration camp Gusen. Shari Keplinger's video collage tells of the encounter with comments and documented glances of the survivors. In the video installation, a photograph with a section of the artist's face can be seen at first glance; through the recess of the eyes, the moving images behind it come to light: the shots of the memorial resemble a movement seeking orientation and a foothold. The eyeless mask remains lifeless and without eye contact in the foreground.
