Special Guest Presentation: ‘MADE @ UCSB Media, Arts, Design and Engineering transdisciplinary research landscape’

The Media Arts and Technology Program (MAT) is a unique graduate program residing in both the College of Letters and Science, Division of Humanities and Fine Arts and the College of Engineering of the University of California Santa Barbara.
Founded in 1999 to pursue the then emerging opportunities for hybrid research and education at the intersection of the arts, media arts, music, electrical and computer engineering and computer science, it has paved the way and has grown into one of the most competitive, prolific and successful graduate transdisciplinary programs of its kind both the University of California system and worldwide. The talk will present the vision, directions, challenges and opportunities such a program affords.
