hortus scholae / hortus artium

by Tamara Lang (AT)

hortus scholae / hortus artium explores the design of school gardens from the perspective of art and work education and proposes the garden as an interdisciplinary artistic place. Illustrations visualize this examination and three-dimensional objects are used to attempt to imitate nature in textiles.

The work was created as part of the artist’s diploma thesis in the summer semester 2020.

Tamara Lang, born in Graz in 1994, began her studies in 2015 at the University of Art in Linz and graduated in 2020 as a teacher of Art and Design. Her artistic works are particularly concerned with the relationship between man and nature. With conceptual approaches and especially the different materials and textures she tries to encourage the viewers to reflect and question their own behaviour towards the environment. The artist currently lives and works in Linz.
